Easy GF Apple Crisp
I love an apple crisp, this one is made with simple ingredients that you probably have on hand at home. The star of the show in this recipe were the organic honey crisp apples.
For the topping:
1 cup of gf rolled oats
1 cup of gf buckwheat flour or brown rice flour
1/3 cup of coconut sugar
2 teaspoons of cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon of salt
4 tablespoons of cold butter, cut into mini cubes
For the fruit filling:
3-4 large honey crisp apples
1/4 cup of honey
1/4 cup of pure maple syrup
2 teaspoons of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of pumpkin spice powder
1/4 teaspoon of salt
2 tablespoons ground flax seed
How to make:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Butter a round pie pan.
Mix all your topping ingredients together in a bowl.
Cut your apples into thin slices and place into your greased pan. Then add in the rest of the filling ingredients, toss with your hands. Sprinkle the topping over the fruit filling.
Bake at 350 for 45-55 minutes depending on how crisp you like it! If it is starting to get too brown, use @ifyoucare foil to cover it for the remainder of the time. Cool & serve with vanilla coconut yogurt with a drizzle of sunflower butter.
